Fundraising
We derive our income from three main areas; donations, animal adoptions and of course, fundraising.
Like all good charities we have to do our fair share of fundraising events.
No, not celebrity bashes, fashion shows or charity balls (not yet anyway) but the ever so glamorous world of car booting in the rain!
Up at the crack of dawn, wearing wellies and a smile (well, a little more than that), being haggled down from 20p to 5p for a garden gnome with his broken fishing rod,
then packing up all our books that have turned to papier macheì due to the unexpected downpour! One of these delightful experiences saw a magnificent profit of £5.
So before long, we decided to investigate the local Fair circuit. Starting with the Richmond Mayfair, we acquired a little gazebo & some helium balloons and began the much
more satisfying experience of Charity Fairs. We baked cakes (well Karen baked them and we ate them!), did a lucky dip, badge-making and sold all our best donated gifts. It was great
fun and we have done several fairs over the past 2 years.
We have also designed and sold our own Christmas Cards each year, thanks to the generous printing of Rachael’s brother, Jonathon. We are always looking for new ways to raise money
and people to hold events for us. If you would like to brave the car boots on our behalf, we would be eternally grateful (& so would the animals).
We take part in many other schemes for fundraising, including:
- Recycling Printer Catridges
- Great Weather Lottery
Events
We also run a number of events throughout the year. Below is a list of some of our past and upcoming events:
