"I adopted Roo and Artie (Previously Lucy & Louis) back in the summer andjust wanted to give you an update and let you know they have settled in well!! Artie was a little bit apprehensive at first and can still get a little spooked at unexpected noises, but has made the most progress and comes up for attention and cuddles quite regularly now. He also is unbelievably agile as despite him being the bigger of the 2 and very laid back he can jump exceptionally high and fling himself about without any effort - Both rabbits have proven that barriers and kiddy gates cannot stop them going where they want to, if they really want too! This means the balcony (which was loved by my previous bunny) is completely out of bounds for safety reasons. Roo (the white rex) has always been affectionate from day one and this has not changed. She always licks my knee when getting cuddles and is also the only rabbit I've seen be so relaxed she'll sleep on her back, legs in the air while in her cage (often dreaming and twitching). She's very trusting and naughty. She's a bit of a nipper when she doesn't want to be fussed or if she wants you to move, but never bites too hard. She was also neutered recently - which I hope will help with the litter training. Both use their tray for wee's but not always for poo's. Not sure if it's territory marking or if hormones may have an effect. They love carrot tops, rocket and parsley (can you tell they're spoilt). They didn't like the wallpaper though - but neither did I, so they helped me remove it! I've attached a picture of them relaxing. I hope you continue the work you do - makes such a difference to so many animals!" |
