A rabbit owner who was doing her own bonding :

Thought you would like to know, all things going okay so far. They have had a couple of "dates" in the bathroom and once Rusty has realised he cannot get out of the room, he settles down and lets Hester lick his face and ears. She has been so good with him, she is very keen to cuddle up. He certainly is a character and very interested in everything going on in the house and what I am doing, but not worried about anything. I even put the washing machine on yesterday in the kitchen and he was dozing flat out on the carpet in the next room.

I think a couple more visits to the bathroom (how romantic!) this week and then I might try them together in the living room at the weekend when I am around to supervise.

UPDATE AFTER BONDING :

I have been meaning to update you on this odd little pair - but have been waiting to try and get a picture of them together for you. The trouble is Rusty is so lively & curious that as soon as I move he is straight there under my feet! His enthusiasm for living here is so sweet and funny. They are getting along ok and are together all the time, Hester accepted him straight away, and he has been busy exploring his new home.

Obviously being half her age, he does have lots more energy than her, but she seems to cope and when she needs some peace & quiet she hides in a box or her little tent, so I'm not entirely sure if all the honking I hear is him getting frisky or her saying leave me alone - but there is no aggression and she never runs very far away from him. They came and sat on the sofa with me today while I stroked them both, but before Rusty went rushing off again, he actually stopped to lick Hester's weepy eye. I have never seen him so affectionate with her - which has really made my day and makes all the marking of territory he is doing at the moment (!) bearable. Do you think that will calm down when he settles in more and isn't so busy courting Hester?

Considering it's still early days (ten in fact) - I think we are doing okay.
