USED FOR SHOOTING PRACTICE
Although we help a lot of animals, most of which are simply not wanted, have been abandoned or are being homed due to change of circumstances, we don’t tend to see too much neglect and cruelty. However, with rabbits and guinea-pigs in particular, there does seem to be a lot more neglect and in this case, extreme cruelty.

This is the extraordinary case of KATIE, the 5 yr old silver fox rabbit. She was one of a group of rabbits who were kept in a junk yard and used as target practice for air rifles. The other rabbits did not make it but Katie made a bid for freedom and dug her way into a neighbours garden.

He called us and she was finally brought to safety, into ARC’s care. After her ordeal, you would imagine her to be a terrified, timid little thing but on the contrary, she had the sweetest nature. After a few months she was featured in PAWS magazine and a home soon came up for her, all the way from Bristol. Katie went to live with another rabbit, a male companion. She is loved and she lives without fear. What a brave little sole!
