ARC’s longest residentOscar came to us in December last year but this December marks his anniversary in ARC’s care, setting a record for our longest foster cat. He came to us when his owner told us that he was being bullied by the other cats he lived with. However, within days we discovered that he had kidney disease. A condition that had gone undiagnosed or...undisclosed! He was traumatised by his move for a few months but Joan gave him lots of love and patience and soon won him round. They have developed a wonderful rapport with each other and he loves Joan’s sister, Diana, too. Unfortunately, he is not so keen on me, as I am the one who drags him off to the vet every 6 weeks for his injection. He really is a funny cat, he keeps Joan in her place and has a fixation with his water bowl, which he moves around the room! Lucy & I are very excited as I write this, as in November, a lady approached us who had fallen for his charms and is on track to adopt him when her house is ready in January. She is taking him on completely, including all his medication. We are all so pleased for him...although Joan & Diana will miss him. It really will be a Happy New Year for our longest resident! |
